There are so many different things about windows I don't know where to start. Windows can be one of the biggest ways that you can save on your energy bill. There are windows out there that depending on the season you can either make them reflective during the summer time to reflect excess heat or turn them around during the winter to bring in some solar heat. Of course the way that your house sits will make a difference. To get the maximum affect of your windows you will want your house windows to be faced to the South. This will allow you to be able to maximize the affects of solar energy. You may want to look into the different types of windows out there to find the right ones for you. This will help you to get the maximum potential out of your windows.
Energy independence is the key to what we all are looking for. We want the best for what we can afford in these troubled times. We want to become energy independent so we only have to rely on ourselves. We shall be the answer to this new world of green energy. If you can find the answers please share with us what you find.

Some new technologies that will help home owners in the future

Ok on this post I'm going to get away from the main heading of the main stream energy sources, such as solar power, wind energy and bio diesel, that I have previously talked about. There is a new technology out there that I have read a little about and have not really heard much about here in the states. Matter of fact it is not really that new but still well worth talking about. There is something called mCHP that is being used currently in Europe and Japan but hasn't really caught on yet here in the United States.
mCHP stands for micro combined heat and power. This technology combines the functionality of the basic home boiler providing heat and hot water, but also in the process makes electricity for the home. From what I gather the steam is used to run a generator that in turn creates electricity. The rest of the process creates your thermal heat and hot water.
Some of the units available outside of the United States create enough energy to run your home or even a small businesses. The units run off of mainly LNG or oil and they are also working on units that will run off of bio diesel and wood. Any extra electricity could be sold back to the electric company if allowed.
This new system can save the average household up to 80% on their energy bills. It can also decrease your carbon footprint up to 2/3's. There also may be some tax benefits to adding one of these units to your home. It could definitely add some value to your home. The savings that you get could pay for the unit in approximately 4 - 5 years.
These type of systems are also great for remote locations. Electrical output varies by the company producing the units.
The two main companies based out of Britain right now are Ceres Power and Disenco. In Japan the main company is Honda. These are the companies that I found right now but there may be others out there. Disenco is working on marketing for North America as we speak. I only found one company based out of New York that is currently marketing units in the United States. That company is named Freewatt. They also incorporate Honda generators in their systems. Their systems only go up to 1.2 Kwh and do not run if the grid goes down. Which I find could be a draw back.
Overall I think this is a very promising technology that really makes sense. I believe that we will soon start hearing more and more about mCHP's. This is one more step for more energy independence that we all crave for. If you know anything more about these types of systems please share with the rest of us so we can all learn together. For the companies mentioned above your welcome for the free advertising!

Cars can run on water

Just came across a new site today that claims it can increase the gas mileage of your car for about $60 in parts and run with the help of water. I have heard of it before but have not actually tried it. I have researched into this a little bit and it runs off a process called Brown's gas or something like that. This is the site that I found
Curious if anybody else has heard of this or has tried it. I am always looking for new ways to save on energy and become more self sufficient. So any new ideas are always welcome. I will continue to research and update with new things that I find as well. Keep it green and keep your freedom.

Home Energy that you can do yourself!

Have you been disgusted with the way the world around us seems to keep going out of control. It just seems that there is nothing that we can do or say that will make a difference to help out the current situations that seem to fall into our laps. Some of us out there are still doing alright and others out there are slowly slipping into the great abyss. I wanted to find out a way that I could once again gain control of at least one part of my life and probably one of the most important aspects and that is energy. Of course my beautiful wife, my family and friends are important too, but what is the one thing that keeps all of us going and the one thing that we all depend on? That is of course energy. I started to wonder how and what I could do to have more say about were and how I could tap into the renewable resources out there with out having to pay an astronomical price. I'm sure that if you are here that you have probably asked yourself the same thing. Am I right?
I started to research many different ways to be environmentally responsible and still not have to pay overwhelming prices to do all of this. I have spent some money and many, many hours of time to gain the knowledge to virtually become independent of the grips of the energy companies and start to produce some of my own energy to power some of the items in my house. They have worked so well that I felt obligated to share some of the information with others, to help out my friends and most importantly my family.
Through the many hours of pain staking task of searching through dozens of dead end internet sites I have found three that gave me the information that I was looking for to build my own energy saving tools and it is just the beginning for me. I look forward to the moment I can put all of the information to use and actually start selling the energy I produce back to my local energy company. Yep! You heard me right you can actually end up selling energy back to the energy company. Of course you will have to contact your local energy companies for more details and to see if this is possible where you live! As you can tell I'm more than excited about all this and that is why I had to share with all that would listen.
The first place I found taught me what I needed to know about making my own solar panels and also how to produce my own energy from the wind. Which is great for where I live! This was packed full of information and was really easy to follow with step by step instructions and illustrations. This is so easy that really anybody can do it and I don't know why we all are not doing it. Please check this out if you don't believe me! Click Here!
The next site that I found also gave me information on how to build solar panels and a wind power system that totally makes sense. I even showed my 16 year old son the plans and he was amazed on really how easy it would be to build. I see the next summer project coming up. Once again the products can all be found at your local hardware store. Yes once again it does depend on where you live! So if you did not find what you were looking for before maybe this is what you need. Click Here!
The third site that I found had tons of information. It teaches you how to build the solar panels and the wind energy generator but now I also got the chance to learn how to make my own bio diesel as well. I have heard about this but now I have the knowledge to do this on my own. It is truly incredible! Think how much you yourself can save with this knowledge. This is really the way to energy freedom that we are all looking for. If you need any information that is out there it is here. It was really easy to read and very easy to follow! Here is the information that really can set you free. Click Here!
I'm really glad that I now have the knowledge to become energy independant and will be able to keep the lights on and will eventually not have to worry about how much the power bill will be every month. This could be you too if you invest in your future as I have done. I have been so happy that I have found these three great programs that will help set me free. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to find great programs to share with all.
